Workshop on Strengthening SCPC Institutional Cohesion During Electoral Processes

Strengthened Institutions Conduct Fair and Efficient Election Process, Workshops and trainings

From 6 to 8 July 2026 in Struga, the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), with the support of the Electoral Support Programme, held a three-day workshop focused on strengthening institutional cohesion in the exercise of its competencies during electoral processes.

The workshop brought together the President and members of the SCPC, as well as staff of the Commission’s Secretariat. Over the three days, participants reviewed the SCPC’s legal competencies related to monitoring electoral processes, experiences from previous electoral cycles, identified systemic weaknesses, and challenges faced by the Commission in exercising its legal responsibilities.

Participants also examined practical cases from the SCPC’s work during the 2025 Local Elections. Particular attention was given to the Commission’s internal communication and organization during electoral processes, cooperation with other competent institutions, and opportunities and mechanisms for further strengthening these areas.

The workshop contributed to strengthening the SCPC’s institutional capacities and internal coordination in exercising its responsibilities related to electoral processes and represented a continuation of the cooperation and support provided through the Electoral Support Programme.
