Within the framework of the Electoral Support Programme in North Macedonia, IFES is organizing a round table event entitled “Political Participation of Women in the 2024 Parliamentary Elections”, which will be held on September 16, 2024, starting at 12:00 noon, in the Holiday Inn hotel in Skopje. The Electoral Support Programme is funded by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).

During the round table, the international consultant on gender issues, Florence Ganou, will present the Report on the participation of women from ethnic communities in the 2024 Parliamentary Elections. The purpose of the Report is to assess the extent and impact of the participation of women from ethnic communities in the 2024 parliamentary elections. Also, the Analysis proposes measures and initiatives for greater involvement of women of different ethnic origins in the electoral process and as part of the political engagement.

The second part of the event will be used for the presentation of the Analysis of the coverage of gender issues in the programs of the candidates for President and the electoral programs of the political parties and coalitions for the parliamentary elections, prepared within the framework of the Electoral Support Programme.
