Font size
The Swiss Electoral Support Programme, in cooperation with the Forum for Reasonable Policies (FRP), aims to develop a fifth generation of young political leaders equipped with the skills and competencies necessary to effectively represent themselves and their political parties during electoral processes, as well as in their engagement with citizens and other relevant stakeholder groups. 20 young, aspiring politicians will represent the new generation of Academy for Public Policy (APP).
The first module of the APP – Fifth Generation, titled “The Fundamentals: Elections & Integrity,” is designed as an immersive learning journey that equips young political actors with a deep, principled, and practical understanding of elections as the cornerstone of democratic life and build participants’ capacities for ethical, transparent, and innovative engagement in pre-electoral, electoral, and post-electoral processes within democratic public spaces. The module will establish a strong values-based and conceptual foundation for young political actors, fostering trust, ethical awareness, and political pluralism while introducing elections as complex democratic processes rather than merely technical procedures. Through interactive learning, institutional insights, and practical exercises, participants will develop core competencies in inclusive campaigning, electoral integrity, and responsible political communication. Special emphasis will be placed on countering misinformation, strengthening accountability, and enhancing youth political agency. Overall, the module will equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding necessary to engage in elections as shared democratic responsibilities rooted in integrity, inclusion, and public trust.
