IFES, in cooperation with the Forum for Reasonable Policies (FRP), is organizing the fourth generation of the  Academy for Public Policy. 30 young, aspiring politicians will represent the new generation of the new Academy, starting  with the first module on Fundamentals.

The Fundamentals is the introductory module that will help comprehend the level and the depth of knowledge of APP participants about key societal processes and institutions, and will serve as an essential precondition for future dealing with political and policy matters. Participants will be acquainted with the essence of political parties’ functioning, local democracy, introduction to public policy, and methodology for preparation of programs for local elections.

As part of this module the basics aspects of ethical behavior during the election process will be covered (such as: how to deal with unethical behavior of the opponents, the essence of resignation, corruption/nepotism/cronyism, the viability of electoral promises etc.).

Along with the introductory session on public policies, a special session will be dedicated specifically to writing policy documents along with the benefits of using AI in policy writing.  In addition, during the first module, participants will develop potential solutions for local problems that they have identified in their application for the APP.
