Mount Vodno, a popular recreational area in Skopje, lacks adequate street lighting on many walking and hiking trails, notably on Cveta’s Path. This creates safety concerns during low-light hours, especially for women, the elderly, families, and those exercising early or late.

The absence of lighting reduces accessibility, discourages outdoor activity, and increases feelings of insecurity. Despite public concern, no comprehensive assessment or solution has been proposed.

This initiative will conduct field research, community surveys, and consultations with the City of Skopje and PE Parks and Greenery to map poorly lit, high-traffic areas. It will recommend solar-powered, energy-efficient lighting solutions and run a public awareness campaign to promote safer, more accessible green spaces.
