A City Without Waste, a City With a Smile

The municipality of Gostivar faces ongoing challenges with uncontrolled waste disposal due to an insufficient number of trash bins and poor maintenance. This issue affects residents, businesses, and visitors, especially in densely populated neighborhoods, near schools, markets, parks, and public transport stops, leading to environmental damage and health risks.

This initiative seeks to tackle the problem through a thorough assessment of waste disposal habits and infrastructure gaps. Using surveys, interviews with local authorities and utility services, and field observations, it will identify priority locations for additional bins and produce a spatial map along with cost estimates for their procurement, installation, and upkeep.
