The educational platform for e-learning, developed within the project Support to Electoral Reforms, through various interactive contents and activities is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of voting and contributes to the realization of more transparent electoral processes and democratic governance. At the same time, this platform aims to expand the knowledge related to the election procedures.
A standout feature of the platform are four online courses intended for the general voting public, election participants and election administration members (Municipal Election Commissions and Electoral Boards), which educate their target users in a depictive, interactive and accessible way.
Through the interactive online course, manuals and information brochures, citizens (voters and young voters) can be informed about their rights and responsibilities. The members who are part of the election administration through these e – courses can better understand the responsibility and competencies they have in the election process and finally through the video manuals for observing the election process in a very vivid way the task of the observers in supporting democratic development and human rights.
This platform is intended for all citizens of the Republic of Northern Macedonia who wish to get acquainted with the basic concepts in anticipation of any election process. The courses offer short and clear explanations, through which readers can get a complete picture of the importance of electoral processes in a democratic society. Guided by the principle that an informed public is essential to success functioning of a democratic society, the courses give a detailed and clear overview on the competencies of the election administration and the rights of the citizens.
Voters have the right to be well informed about the election process and their voting rights. Elections are an essential element of democracy. Trust in the bodies conducting the elections, as well as well-informed citizens are a prerequisite for democratic, credible and fair elections.
